Loads going on! Radio School/Emma Scott Presents/Writer's Block/Band Mentoring…
I'm busy getting ready for my first few LECTURES. I talk about my 22 years in radio and how to get on the radio if you're in an unsigned band. I've had some great feedback, and people are walking away with a good idea of what goes on within a radio station, how to get their band heard by presenters, and take their careers forward. If you want me to lecture at your college or uni, get in touch via the email address below.
With all my expertise within the radio industry, putting on gigs, listening to and playing unsigned bands, I'm happy to start mentoring bands on a one-to-one basis. I can work with the band over a course of sessions, find out where you are and where you want to be - and help you get there. If you feel you could benefit from some mentoring from myself and my business partner, then email me emmascottlimited@btinternet.com
My RADIO SCHOOL is looking as though it's gonna happen! The plan is for it to be a 6 hour crash-course into radio, with the opportunity to make a radio demo, which you will be able to send out to radio stations and be proud of! If you've ever been interested in learning more about what goes on behind the scenes in radio, how a radio show is put together, how playlists work, or if you just want to get behind the mic, then this will be ideal for you!! If you're interested in being a "student" then email me emmascottlimited@btinternet.com and I will get in touch with more details.
The EMMA SCOTT PRESENTS gigs are coming back! The first one (teaming up with MAS Records) is on April 27th at the Academy 3 in Birmingham. I am going to be putting on bigger gigs at other venues later on this year too. I'll be sure to keep you posted on Twitter, Face ache and My Space though, and keep checking back here too! If you're in a band and would like to play, then use the email address above to give me more details about yourselves, and some links to your music.
The autobiography is coming along well. Around 65,000 words done, but I'm suffering from writers-block at the moment - maybe because I have so many other things going on.
Well, I'd better get on. Hope you're well, speak soon!

What's new for 2010?
A new decade and exciting times ahead, I hope!
I'm still doing some shows for Heart. Mostly on the South Coast, but i'm doing a couple of shows in Swindon in Feb too.
I'm missing not being on the radio everyday, but i'm keeping busy with the writing of my autobiography and that's a massive job. I'm sorting through boxes and boxes of memories, photo's, paperwork, cassettes, CD's, mini discs etc - and the memories are flooding back. I've done around 57,000 words so far, and am nowhere near done! It's a great feeling, although quite a challenge at times!
I'll keep you posted on how you can get it, when it's done. There are more details about the book here:
I'm going to be appearing in a classroom again soon, as I start up lecturing on radio and breaking into the music business. Exciting times. The first one is at Kidderminster College on Feb 23rd.
I'm also starting up the Emma Scott Presents gigs for 2010. I'll let you know all the details as soon as I get them.
I've got a lot of updating to do on this site as there are so many references to me being on Kerrang! Radio, and i'm not on there anymore. It's been 7 months now, so I really ought to crack on with it!!
Keep in touch via Facebook if you like:
and on Twitter. I'm Emma_scott
It's always nice to hear from you!
Happy New Year and God Bless You.
More news!
Hope you're well, just wanted to update you on some more news.
W/C Nov 2nd, I'll be back on the radio in Brighton! I used to work there from 2001 to 2003, and I'm really looking forward to getting back. I wonder whether I'll get lost? Of course I will….that's a given!
I'll be on Heart Brighton on the Breakfast Show with Paul Hayes from 6 - 10am.
I'm also in the early stages of writing "MY RADIO LIFE". I said I wanted to write a book, and I don't think i'll ever get round to a full book, so thought i'd write all about my radio career from the last 21 years in blog-form. These will appear on this site in the near future. Oh, the memories!! ![]()
Well, until I update again, stay classy San Diego.
Hugs xxx
So, it's been a while since I left Kerrang! Radio now. I'm settling into a completely different world at Heart, but am working with some great people and it's nice to feel wanted!!! I have been on Heart Birmingham and London (all over the country) and next week I'm going to be back in Hampshire doing their Drive Time show from 4 - 7pm. Should be fun!!
A couple of things I wanted to say then…..
I'm in the early stages of putting together a track listing for a compilation CD that I hope to release early next year. It will include a lot of bands who have played Emma Scott Presents gigs; and any suggestions for your favourite E.S.P bands are more than welcome.
As part of the CD release, I'll be putting on a massive Emma Scott Presents gig, so keep an eye on this site as well as my facebook profile and my Emma Scott My Space page.

I have loads of my old photo cards from Kerrang! that I am trying to sell to raise some money for Cancer Research UK. I didn't get to do a Race For Life this year, so this may clear my conscience slightly!
You can get it from my shop - www.emmascott.bigcartel.com
I also wanna give a plug to Gundogs new shop - selling thier new cd, posters, and other random stuff!

A quick update!
So it wasn't long before I was taken out of my "early retirement". 2 weeks I believe i managed in the end!
I'm currently covering the breakfast show on Heart 100.7FM in the West Midlands, with Dave Clarke from 6am and 10am. We have been trusted with the number one show in the area; which amuses us no end! Ed and Rachel are enjoying some much deserved time off, and having done a week on their show, I think i'll be needing some time off afterwards! (2 more weeks to go!)
I think I've been through every emotion over the last week or so, but today it felt good. Yes, it's a massive change to what I was used to on Kerrang!, but it's radio, and radio's the love of my life!
If you've not heard Heart for a while, then give it a go - you'll hear how I sound at 6 in the morning! Text us too, it's 8-21-22 - start your text with the word studio. Be great to hear from you!
Besides my work at Heart, the wedding renewals went really well, Indi was the vicar and was amazing. The school holidays are 6 of the longest weeks of any parent's life….and its the same in our house! THEY ARE DRIVING US MAD!!
Hope you are well. Keep in touch!

Saying Goodbye!
As I leave Kerrang! Radio tomorrow, I just wanted to say goodbye and thank you for listening and being part of this awesome ride!
Yes, I'm upset that I'm going, but I understand why it has to happen. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise. I guess I have been working far too hard with my radio shows, as well as the TV show, the writing that I do, the Emma Scott Presents gigs, the Club Night, the charity stuff, the DJ sets…and of course, all the admin!!
No, I don't have anything lined up yet; but my husband and I are renewing our wedding vows next week in Cornwall and we are also having a big party for my (soon to be) 9 year old daughter the week after. Can't wait
I have a lot of stuff to get sorted before people arrive at the house!
I have been truly touched by the emails, comments on Myspace and Facebook since it was announced that I was leaving Kerrang!. So much more than I could have imagined. I certainly seem to have filled 4 hours of your day in a special way!! My job is done!! I have loved my time at Kerrang! It's been hard work at times, but worth it.
I have been in radio for 21 years now, and never been out of work for long; so I'm sure I'll be ok! Otherwise, I'm gonna write a book!!
Thanks for your support, and I wish you all the health and happiness in the world. You can keep in touch with me via Facebook (facebook.com/wenchemma) and Myspace.com/emmascott
Look after yourself
As Ron Burgandy says. STAY CLASSY SAN DIEGO.
I love you

Emma is leaving Kerrang! and Q Radio.
Following the recent press speculation and rumours circulating at the moment, it is with a heavy heart Emma Scott Limited can confirm the departure of Emma Scott and producer Jase Burns from Kerrang! Radio.
Emma has issued the following statement;
“I’ve had an amazing time at Kerrang! and achieved so much more than I could ever have imagined. I’m going to enjoy some time off this summer with my family, and then plan my next move! It’s been an awesome ride and I’m so lucky to have been at Kerrang! Radio for the past 5 years.”
